A creamy white cat with black accents sits with her paws pulled up beneath her, under the branches of a plum blossom tree, quietly contemplating we know not what as a striking blue butterfly flutters nearby, as if to alight on an ear. As Nathaniel Hawthorne tells us, happiness is very like that butterfly - eluding the grasping hand, instead settling with us when that hand is stilled. I based this design on a lovely painting, “Cat and Plum Blossoms,” by Hishida Shunso. Thanks to Doudou’s and Mistica Designs for some of the elements in this design.
