This card represents the sign of Capricorn (December 23-January 20). The illustration is adapted from my book The Alchymical Zoodiac: A Celestial Bestiary (Imaginarius Editions, 2003). The figure representing Capricorn is based on the mythical hybrid goat-fish, a symbol associated with both domesticity and adventure as well as the connection between earth and sea. The book includes the twelve signs of the zodiac and four elements; the Sun, the Moon, the Wind and Ourobouros, the symbol of the cycle of life. Each sign is shown with its star constellation. An explanation of each sign and symbol can be found in the Artist's Notes section of the book.
