This card is intended to congratulate a boy on the occasion of his Bar Mitzvah, traditionally celebrated when he reaches the age of 13. The large Torah scrolls are the centerpiece of the illustration to emphasize the concept of it being a 'tree of life' based on the quotation in the Book of Proverbs: “It is a tree of life to all who grasp it, and whoever holds on to it is happy; its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace. (Proverbs 3:17-18) The Torah is flanked by the Bar Mitzvah boy, his rabbi and family to suggest the importance of learning, maturity and connection to community.
