I created this 42nd birthday design for a daughter with a love of whimsical hand-drawn illustration and the quiet elegance of French antiques. Inspired by delicate antique glassware, faded botanical prints, and the timeless charm of provincial markets, I combined expressive pen work with loose watercolour washes to give the artwork a light, handcrafted feel. Soft layers of blush pink, warm ivory, sage green, and gentle golden tones reflect the muted beauty of timeworn treasures, while every illustrated detail was carefully composed to evoke warmth, celebration, and nostalgia. My hope is that this design feels both artistic and heartfelt, creating a beautiful keepsake for a daughter celebrating her 42nd birthday.
