This 26th birthday card for a granddaughter was inspired by the irresistible artistry of French pātisseries, where every cake is a miniature masterpiece. I loved sketching elegant displays of colourful pastel icing, delicate piped decorations, charming cake toppers, and joyful sprinkles that transform simple bakes into celebrations. Back in my studio, those sketchbook studies evolved into this whimsical watercolour illustration, using loose brushstrokes and playful hand-drawn details to capture the sweetness and creativity of French baking. My hope is that this design reflects the delight of life's little indulgences and brings a smile to a granddaughter celebrating her 26th birthday.
