Childhood memories of everything that is Magical New York at Christmastime always smelled like roasting chestnuts and warm pretzels. I was pregnant with my first child, sitting in traffic on the lead-up to the Lincoln Tunnel when I decided I needed to make a pretzel and chestnut cart out of felt and beads.
