Hidden in the desert of Southern California is a lone Foo Dog (or Shi Shi, Lion-Dog) standing as a guardian over a landscape of sagebrush and cactus. A photo of this faithful sentinel was taken at sunrise for this greeting for the Chinese New Year of the Dog in 2030. Framing the Foo Dog, is a gold and crimson border that gives the illusion of metallic foil and although this is faux, it adds a colorful detail to this Chinese New Year card. The Chinese characters above the Fu Dog spell out "Happy New Year," Gong Xi Fa Cai.
