Chinese new year greeting (Gong Xi Fa Cai) and a wish for an abundant year ahead. This sketch shows a whole steamed fish on a plate, with strips of ginger, scallion, and sprigs of parsley. Considered a lucky food and eaten during the new year, fish symbolizes abundance or surplus. The fish is served whole, with the head and tail, as this denotes a good beginning and a good end to the new year. Beside the dish are two angpow envelopes (money gifts) with a dragon motif and the Chinese character for luck. The character is also shown in the upper right corner, drawn in red and set in a translucent green frame. The character is written upside down to symbolize luck coming in. Gold colored geometric designs sit across the top of the card, together with bamboo foliage. Sitting along the bottom edge is a patterned banner in shades of red, pink and yellow. The background is a soft yellow color. This design is customizable for the year. All effects are digitally rendered.
