Dia de los Muertos, also known as the Day of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. It is a vibrant and colorful commemoration of deceased loved ones. During Dia de los Muertos, families and communities come together to honor and remember their deceased ancestors and friends. It is believed that during this time, the spirits of the departed return to the earthly realm to visit their loved ones. Rather than being a somber occasion, Dia de los Muertos is a joyous and festive celebration of life and death. Calacas and calaveras, which are colorful and whimsical skeleton and skull figures, are prevalent during Dia de los Muertos. These lively symbols are seen in various forms, such as artwork, sculptures, and sugar skulls. They serve as a reminder that death is a natural part of life and can be embraced with humor and joy.
