Some countries celebrate St. Martin's Day or The Feast of St. Martin on Nov. 10, some on Nov. 11. St. Martin was a Roman soldier who became a monk. The feast usually serves roast goose and wine to celebrate. The story goes that Martin hid in a goose pen, to keep from being appointed as a bishop. The geese gave him away and the tradition of the roast goose began. He also was famous for his wine.
